Challenge to walk 10,000 steps a day

Event Overview

Weight management is an integral part of health promotion. Maintaining a healthy body weight mitigates obesity-related health risks such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers.

Walking is a simple physical activity that can be easily integrated into daily life. The Walking Challenge aims to raise awareness of the health benefits of walking, encourage the public to walk 10,000 steps a day to boost daily physical activity, and maintain a healthy body weight when combined with a balanced diet.

With the slogan “Step up to 10,000! Spark joy in every movement!“, the Walking Challenge is conducted through the “e+Life” App under the eHealth App. It gamifies physical activity and makes it an enjoyable habit. The public can complete various missions on the “e+Life” App, synchronise step records, earn Health Coins, and redeem gifts.

Adults are recommended to gradually increase their daily step goal to 10,000 based on individual’s own physical conditions, abilities, pace and circumstances. Even if the goal cannot be achieved, any amount of walking is better than sitting.
